Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist who is experienced in recommendation logic and Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) algorithms.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science and machine learning, and have worked on projects related to recommendation systems and optimization algorithms.
The candidate should also have some experience in the logistics industry, particularly in the application of data science to logistics operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain recommendation systems for our logistics operations.
- Develop and maintain VRP algorithms using known libraries such as Google OR-Tools or other open-source libraries.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and develop data-driven solutions.
- Analyse and interpret complex data sets, and provide insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Design experiments to test and validate models, and iterate on them to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in machine learning and optimisation algorithms.
Requirements
- University degree in Computer Science, Operations Research, Mathematics, or related field.
- Strong programming skills in Python or R, and experience with data manipulation and analysis.
- Experience with recommendation systems and VRP algorithms using known libraries such as Google OR-Tools or other open-source libraries.
- Experience with machine learning and deep learning techniques, and knowledge of data mining and statistical analysis.
- Experience with SQL databases and data visualisation tools.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable, but not required
- Experience in the logistics industry, particularly in the application of data science to logistics operations.
- Fluency in German
- Resides in Hamburg
